There is also the possibility of a drop in hormones\nthat can cause a lack of sleep during pregnancy. Sleep deprivation that\ncontinues up to the time of delivery will most likely carry over after the baby\nis born and as a result, lead to depression and anxiety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Get the Rest You Need and Feel Better<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First, understand that your body may have difficulty\nadjusting in the beginning. Caring for a new baby sometimes means not getting\nenough natural light throughout the day. It also means your body is subjected\nto too much light at night when waking up to take care of your infant. This can\nconfuse your internal clock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a way to combat this, it\u2019s important that you practice\ngood sleep behaviors. This means a few things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Do not force sleep. It is a natural occurrence\nthat will happen on its own. Forcing it will only make it more difficult. <\/li><li>If you have trouble sleeping, find ways to\nrelax. Reading a book or relaxing in a dimly lit room can help. <\/li><li>Avoid technology before bed. The blue light that\nis emitted can also confuse your body, so it\u2019s best to put it away at least two\nhours before you go to sleep. <\/li><li>Discuss with your partner how your baby will be\ncared for upon arrival. If possible, try to share the nightly duties instead of\nallowing one individual to take all the responsibility. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you try all of the above-mentioned tips and it still does\nnot seem to be working, talk to a sleep dentist. It may be possible that you\nhave some form of sleep apnea and require treatment to achieve a restful\nnight\u2019s sleep. There is a multitude of treatment options available that can\nhelp you achieve sleep and ultimately, improve your mood and attitude,\nlessening your feelings of anxiety and depression. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t be embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help.
